  • Designing for Enterprise Grade Knowledge Automation Application.
  • During my engagement with Kaybus, I was involved in solving a few interesting enterprise problems with the main focus on “making knowledge automation simple”. A significant part of the role was to overhaul the present knowledge recommendation processes and implement new, structured ways of finding the right knowledge at the right time.
  • I worked closely with product managers and engineering teams to develop a product from the earliest stages of its conception down to creating usable interfaces for it across platforms. This included developing a strategy for the product, feature definition and information architecture and interaction design. Core features of the work included developing improved knowledge recommendations, implementing share functionality across the product, and converting the existing web knowledge viewing experience to mobile only.

  • Designing the User Experience to Add & Manage Gift Cards for a Mobile Wallet Service
  • On this project, I led the design efforts to develop the service based on existing user needs and challenges related to adding and managing gift cards on the Mobile Wallet service. The design for the service was developed based on in-depth interactions with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from the client team to identify the business goals, user needs and technological requirements.
  • In order to design the different functions related to the management of gift cards by a user, I partnered with three different project managers and one lead designer to uncover insights and translate concepts into features that addressed user behaviour and motivation.
  • All through the project, I presented the work to various teams within Mobile Wallet team, acquiring buy‐ins from executives, senior stakeholders and many other members with varying skill-sets and positions within the company.

  • User Experience standardization across Insurance web portals
  • As a full-time consultant, I led user experience design for multiple web projects, helping to develop and implement a user-centered design methodology for their internal product development processes. This included conducting design research through interviews and co-design workshops with end users, prototyping and testing various concepts, and setting processes for evaluating the usability of their web-based services across regions, based on specific heuristics.
  • With the aim of creating a unified experience and a common design language across all the direct insurance portals I collaborated closely on product planning and execution with various teams in APAC including the Product, Business and Development teams. I worked with the visual design team in Shanghai and development team in Bangalore to create intuitive, delightful user experiences.

  • Unifying User Experience for Bluetooth Headsets through Apps
  • The project began as a proof of concept (p.o.c) for creating a unified user experience across all the application platforms for bluetooth headsets, starting with the Android platform for mobile phones. The app had to include a seamless bluetooth connection and management through the phone, and required the introduction of a design metaphor that would be engaging for the end users.
  • I developed design concepts in collaboration with designers and product managers from the client who were working across platforms to translate product features for the context of each platform. The product features for which I developed concepts were based on use case scenarios created by the internal teams and culled out during design workshops. Wireframes and screen flows were created based on these use case scenarios and the UX for the apps was designed in coordination with the development team to understand technological constraints and requirements across multiple platforms. This entire process of user experience design was was aligned with agile project timelines.

  • Designing the Network Operating System Experience
  • The purpose of the Network Operating Centre dashboard is to monitor and track all the packet details being sent by various Enrolment Agencies and Registrars for the government organization. Before the development of this dashboard there were no systems for tracking the packets to determine causes of delays and other incidents pertaining to transfer of these information packets. The NOC dashboard would allow internal stakeholders to screen various details about the transference of packets to determine the status and count of the packets at various stages of the system.

  • Simplifying Web Access for the Next billion (SWAN)
  • My project with HP Labs India aimed to radically simplify web experiences and help everyone realize the value of the web. The idea was to make web interaction become as simple as using a phone, watching TV or reading a magazine or newspaper. User's web interactions need to be packaged so that the interaction is personally familiar, uncluttered and accessible with minimal effort.
  • The initial brief was two fold:
  • 1. To understand the current mobile internet usage, its impact and possibilities from the point of view of the people using it. The aim was to uncover latent needs of the users and see how those could be fulfilled using existing technology.
  • 2. The next phase was to look at one of the possibilities and design an application for it. This application would be used over a mobile internet platform, using a text message based interaction.
  • Thus, the objective of the project was to conduct a research for designing a browser-less mobile internet interaction that would be based on the actual needs of the people of Bangalore.
