Pronnoy Goswami — Software Engineer
Experienced software engineer passionate about architecting highly distributed, scalable, and reliable systems—I embody the ethos of an "Effective Engineer"[1] and an empathetic leader, striving to deliver meaningful and disproportionate impact with every project. Currently at Workday's Data Platform, Observability, and Insights organization, I'm building the future of observability with "Pharos" and "Solas," our next-generation unified telemetry and logging platforms. Solas provides a centralized logging infrastructure, delivering a robust, unified, day-zero observability solution for thousands of Workday customers globally. Pharos complements this by offering scalable telemetry and deep insights across internal and external systems, redefining how Workday approaches monitoring and observability. Previously at Microsoft Azure Compute, I pioneered a distributed, concurrent, low-latency control plane architecture, often described as the "Operating System of Azure." My work enabled foundational scenarios for efficient container lifecycle management at massive cloud scale, highlighting my strength in building mission-critical infrastructure. My journey includes impactful roles at PayPal and McKinsey & Company, where I cultivated my problem-solving abilities and developed solutions at the intersection of technology and strategy. Armed with a Master's in Computer Engineering from Virginia Tech, my interests span distributed systems, AI infrastructure, applied machine learning, and large-scale optimization. I regularly serve as a technical reviewer for prestigious publishers, including Manning and Packt, providing expert insights on Kubernetes, AI infrastructure, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures. I also actively contribute to IEEE peer-review activities, staying connected with the engineering and research communities. I firmly believe - "Technology is one of the most powerful forces to democratize services globally." Outside of work, you'll find me reading, hiking, mentoring, or brainstorming startup ideas. If you're working on something exciting and impactful, let's connect over coffee! ☕ Opinions expressed here are solely my own. [1] Book: The Effective Engineer by Edmond Lau.
