An FPGA is a device that contains a matrix of reconfigurable gate array logic circuitry. When a FPGA is configured, the internal circuitry is connected in a way that creates a hardware implementation of the software application.
A 8 bit up-down counter was simulated using VHDL to generate the required waveform using ModelSim tool. Further it was synthesized using Xilinx ISE tool and was programmed on Spartan 3E board the outputs of which were verified on the onboard LEDS .Other basic Programs were simulated, synthesized and programed on the Spartan 3E board as part of basic learning of the language, tools and the board
An ADC converts a continuous-time and continuous-amplitude analog signal to a discrete-time and discrete-amplitude digital signal. Analog Capturing Circuit in synchronization with Spartan 3E Board was implemented which converts the given Analog value into digital value after which its FFT is to be found.
Similar ADC circuit is being implemented using DUC in MATLAB
