Rahul Kumar — Software Engineer

I’m a software engineer with a strong focus on backend systems, infrastructure, and applied AI, with 2.5+ YOE building and owning production systems that deal with scale, messy real-world data, and real constraints—where reliability matters more than clever abstractions. Currently at Ocrolus, I work on designing and maintaining backend services with end-to-end ownership from design to production stability. As an Expert on Codeforces, a 4★ coder on CodeChef, and an ICPC Prelims top 9.4% finisher, I’m comfortable breaking down complex problems, staying calm under pressure, and writing code that’s clear, debuggable, and trustworthy in production. I have an insatiable curiosity and a passion for exploring new technologies and ideas, including modern developer tooling and AI-assisted workflows (Cursor, LLMs, retrieval systems). Outside the realm of technology, my interests include chess, sketching portraits, and reading both fiction and non-fiction literature—pursuits that reflect my creative nature and love for learning.
