I am one among many others. When I started my carrier 12 years ago with Tata Consultancy Services, I was a fresh graduate with an Instrumentation degree from SASTRA university. Working in Business Intelligence space, I learnt and understood data warehousing concepts like Fact/Dim tables, star/SnowFlake schema etc. It felt like a good piece of engineering. Learnt basics of databases, ETL and reporting tools. During my tenure over 4 years, I kept improving myself on the nuances of data warehousing and tools I used. That is also when I found my coding skills restricted to the extent of tool which made me transition to code-based tools. 8 years later, here I am trying to forge my own path in ever changing scenario of Software Engineering. It involved learning some cutting edge technologies, concepts and areas. Now, I am well versed with AWS cloud services, pyspark ETL, fair number of databases and most recently with Computer Vision. All through these years, I also gained knowledge on businesses in Banking, Retail, Medical and Manufacturing domains. However, what keeps me different is my thirst for knowledge and learning new things. Moving from an on-premise UI based to a on-premise distributed code based to a cloud based distributed code based ETL marks inception of it. I continue to learn and will do so-not just at work.
