Ricardo Ferreira — CEO
I turn complex technologies into developer success stories. For over 20 years, I've done this by building systems, leading software developers, contributing to open-source projects, and speaking globally on distributed systems, databases, and software development. Currently leading the Developer Relations (DevRel) team at Redis, where I'm helping establish Redis as a foundational data infrastructure for real-time AI applications and vector databases, extending the same dominance the company achieved in caching. My journey to this point hasn't been typical. My career spans continents and technologies. I began in 2001, teaching programming with Borland development tools in Brazil. I trained over 2,000 developers, which shaped my passion for teaching technology. I've built a transaction engine capable of handling 100K TPS on a single node. I won Oracle's World Best Sales Consultant Award for replacing mainframe code with data streaming and caching technologies. That work led Oracle to relocate me to the US to join their elite group, known as the A-Team, where I helped influence product roadmaps for Fortune 500 companies. Then I found my calling in DevRel. With Confluent, I created the Pac-Man demo, still the most successful data streaming demo in the space. At Elastic, I grew their YouTube subscriber base from 1,000 to over 10,000 in one year while positioning the company as a leader in observability. At AWS, I led video content strategy across YouTube, Twitch, and Instagram, making complex distributed systems topics accessible to millions of users. What sets me apart is simple: I don't just talk about technology. I've built it, architected it, and debugged it at 3 a.m. From software engineering to distributed systems architecture. From SOA to microservices. From JMS to Apache Kafka. From Big Data to AI. I lived through the evolution of modern data infrastructure firsthand. Today, I focus on: ✅ Establishing Redis as ubiquitous infrastructure for real-time AI ✅ Building world-class DevRel teams grounded in deep technical credibility ✅ Scaling developer communities through modern, measurable DevRel practices ✅ Delivering thought leadership via video, social, and in-person engagements 👉🏻 I'm always eager to learn how people use technology to solve their business problems, discuss implementation strategies, and drive meaningful impact with clever ideas. Let's connect if you're interested in this as well.
