• This was an extension of my earlier role, but with deeper ownership.
• I was trusted with more complex flows, larger modules, and cross-team coordination. I became more involved in requirement refinement discussions, questioning edge cases, and anticipating downstream impact before implementation.
• The shift here was from “implement what is defined” to “help define what should exist.”
• I handled end-to-end delivery of features across frontend and backend, coordinated testing strategies, and ensured production stability in high-impact modules.
• This phase sharpened my debugging skills, strengthened my system thinking, and made me far more comfortable dealing with ambiguity instead of waiting for perfect specifications.

Aug 2020 – Aug 2022 · 2 yrs

• ION is a product-based fintech company with multiple products under its umbrella. I worked on Softmar, a freight management solution covering voyage estimation, risk management, cargo tonnage management, vessel operations, and end-to-end voyage tracking.
• As a full stack developer, my work was not limited to writing code. I was involved in shaping flows, refining requirements, implementing features, and making sure what we shipped actually worked in real-world scenarios.
• What I worked on:
• Backend development using Java
• Frontend development using Angular (ION SDK)
• Databases including SQL, MongoDB, Cassandra
• Kafka with CDC for event-driven flows
• Testing and delivery:
• Unit and integration testing, including an in-house Record and Replay framework
• Performance testing using JMeter
• CI/CD using Jenkins
• Beyond implementation, I contributed through:
• Building POCs and presenting them to stakeholders
• Writing Specification by Example documents
• Creating class diagrams and flow diagrams to bring clarity before execution
• I also mentored freshers as a Buddy, conducted knowledge transfer sessions, and regularly did pair programming.
• This phase was about building strong execution fundamentals and learning how large systems actually behave.

Dec 2019 – Jul 2020 · 7 mos · Greater Bengaluru Area

• During my final semester, alongside my compulsory capstone project, I chose to intern at IDOS because I wanted to experience how a startup actually operates. I did not want my first exposure to engineering to be purely academic.
• At IDOS, I worked across mobile, frontend, and backend systems, contributing both to new applications and improving legacy software.
• Technologies I worked with:
• Android Development (Java) for maintaining and updating the existing app
• Angular for web interfaces
• Ionic for cross-platform POCs and demos
• React Native for production-level cross-platform development
• Play Framework for backend enhancements on the legacy web product
• During my time there, I developed two mobile applications for the organization and also contributed to improving their existing product.
• More than the tech stack, this internship gave me exposure to how fast product decisions are made in startups, how trade-offs are handled, and how imperfect systems evolve over time.

May 2019 – Jul 2019 · 2 mos · Pune, Maharashtra, India

• I interned at Schlumberger after clearing multiple campus interview rounds. This was my first structured exposure to a large multinational corporate environment.
• I primarily worked on Microsoft PowerApps and internal collaboration tools. During my internship, I completed two assigned projects and also participated in a hackathon project.
• Beyond technical learning, this experience introduced me to enterprise-scale processes, structured communication, and the expectations that come with working in a global MNC.
• I received a Pre-Placement Offer based on my performance during the internship.
• This phase helped me understand the difference between building something that works and building something that fits into an existing enterprise ecosystem.

• As an Internshala Campus Ambassador, I was responsible for increasing internship awareness among students at my university.
• I conducted and anchored multiple workshops on topics such as:
• The importance of internships
• Building a digital footprint
• Navigating early career opportunities
• This role strengthened my communication skills and pushed me to explain career strategy to peers while still figuring out my own path.

Jun 2018 – Aug 2018 · 2 mos

• This was my first technical internship, and it gave me hands-on exposure to real-world web development projects.
• Working remotely, I contributed to web features and learned how products evolve iteratively based on customer feedback. I saw firsthand that building the “perfect” product is rarely linear. It is cyclical, messy, and often shaped by constraints outside engineering.
• I also interacted directly with clients, which taught me patience and the importance of translating vague requirements into implementable features.
• This experience built the foundation for how I approach product thinking even today.

• I supported the organisation in improving their Asset-Holder data application and created a presentation of the system for UNICEF and other stakeholders.
• This experience exposed me to the impact side of technology and how even small technical improvements can support larger social initiatives.
