• Rooter is India's largest native streaming platform specializing in mobile video games. It is available on all major mobile platforms and regularly ranks number one on the google play store. More than 5 million users use the Rooter app each month.
• At Rooter, I was in charge of leading the engineering division of the company. The following are some of the initiatives I was involved in:
• Managed a team of 20 developers and testers across the android, ios, web and back end teams to deliver the Rooter application. Organized agile processes for the team.
• Architected the proprietary recommendation engine that serves content to Rooter users.
• Managed cost reduction strategies to optimize the usage of AWS cloud and keep per-user costs low. Created cost-tracking systems for internal managerial accounting as well as investor reporting.
• Managed relationships with all tech vendors including AWS, Akamai, Google Cloud Platforms, Tencent etc. and negotiated contracts for all third-party services used at Rooter
• Developed the product strategy for multiple features like the streamer studio which resulted in tremendous product-led growth
• Led technical pitches to several venture capital firms and raised a 25 million dollar series A round. Actively involved in supporting due diligence activities.
• Developed the security roadmap for the application and created the anti-piracy systems protecting the app
• Orchestrated several strategic partnerships including ones with AWS and Truecaller

• Created the back-end architecture for the Rooter app on top of Amazon web services, an infrastructure that supports a million users each day
• Developed the in-house video streaming platform that supports over 2000 concurrent streams at any time. Designed to be fault tolerant and cost-effective using Kubernetes and the AWS cloud.
• Pivoted the company from sports social media to game streaming during the covid crisis delivering an MVP in 2 weeks

• Worked as part of the Xstore team to design and implement the ADLS gen1 to gen2 upgrade, which involved the online migration of billions of streams and exabytes of data with zero downtime for customers.
• Developed a solution that enabled geo-replication for streams across ADLS gen1 clusters.
• Managed client relationships with Adobe and other internal stakeholders and delivered several customized cloud solutions for their platform, managing cross-functional collaboration with their product management team.
• Conceived and developed an on-call chatbot for all Azure big data engineering teams.
• Created an MVP that reduced data lake storage costs through a research project done jointly with MSR.
• Created an onboarding system for new hires in the big data team, including documentation and code automation. Mentored and trained new hires and interns

• Worked as part of the Microsoft Big Data team working on Azure Data Lake Store and Cosmos.
• Was responsible for the upgrade internal Microsoft big data systems to Azure Data Lake Store. Since the internal big data system of Microsoft stored several exabytes of data, this was probably one of the largest migration projects ever undertaken in the history of the company and big data for that matter. Designed and implemented distributed systems to perform in place migration that was capable of moving millions of streams in a matter of minutes.
• Worked on an experimental project to detect and move data across different tiers of storage (SSD, hard disk, tape etc.) based on their recency of use.
• Also worked to refine the big data telemetry systems present in cosmos. Actively participated in the training of new hires and interns.

• Worked as part of the Azure Data Lake Store team on the Microsoft internal big data storage platform named Cosmos and HDinsight. Worked on caching files in long lived HDinsight nodes to improve job performance.
