• Joined IANS Hindi Service in November 2007 as Chief Sub Editor and worked there till August
• 2020. As Chief News Editor, here I was leading a team of over 25 journalists including reporters.
• I was responsible for producing at least 200 error free stories every day. Besides writing and
• editing stories, generating story ideas, coordinating with state bureaus and monitoring every
• news item were the major part of my daily routine over the last 12 years at IANS.
• Apart from
• this, addressing concerns of subscribers in terms of demand of stories of their choice was also a
• part of day to day activity.
• When I joined IANS in 2007 we were tasked to release at least 40
• stories and that too with a small team. Over the years we took this tally to over 200 storis
• everyday. Besides IANS Newswire two other websites hindi.ianslive.in and khabarfilmy.in are
• under my supervision.
• Dainik Jagran (Oct. 2002 to Nov. 2007)
• Started as Sub Editor at Dainik Jagran, one of leading newspapers, in October 2002 and worked
• there till November 2007. Before resigning, I was incharge of seven page City Edition (Delhi).
• On an average we used to get around 60 stories on daily basis from different bureau offices. My
• job was to edit 10 stories out of them and distribute rest to the other sub editors. After stories
• were edited, I used to decide layout of the page and also the lead story for each page.
• Timely
• finalisation of pages too were under my supervision. Calling reporters and to get the stories
• timely was a regular affair.
