• As part of the Shipping team at Amazon, I was responsible for architecting and developing backend systems responsible for calculating possible shipping speeds and their associated charges for customers across all Amazon retail websites worldwide.
• Shipping team helps calculate shipping related information in real-time with built-in fault tolerance and high availability at a global scale with super low latencies.
• The systems also help prevent abuse by evaluating customer eligibility towards purchasing any items - restricting them from purchasing certain items based on their purchase history, governing laws or other factors.
• Tech stack is built on top of AWS and uses Java as the programming language

• Owned and developed backend and middleware components for Microsoft Membership, Knowledge and Growth team. Contributed to developing, designing and maintaining several large-scale distributed systems over Azure in production catering close to a billion requests with limited footprint.
• Worked on actively resolving issues with production systems, bringing down failures counts in specific components by over 95%, reducing alert counts and helping the team focus on actionable alerts in a “live-site first” culture.

• Project: MyVirtuoso - A Mobile Dashboard.
• As an intern at Microsoft, I was given the responsibility of following an appropriate SDLC model to develop a project from scratch taking part in each end of the software development process including requirement gathering & analysis, design, development, testing and production.
• MyVirtuoso was a mobile dashboard for project managers, DE leads and other project or delivery team leadership where they could track and monitor project health live, as well as request for approvals and track existing requests. This was built on WinRT, powered by Web APIs, Azure Mobile services and Biztalk.
