About

I’m a backend engineer who’s been deep in the Java world for a good while now. I’ve worked across FinTech, SaaS, EdTech, telecom, and e-commerce, so I’ve had my fair share of scaling headaches, weird edge cases, and “this worked in staging” moments. I enjoy designing systems that don’t break under pressure, digging into distributed architectures, and building APIs that developers don’t curse at. Over the years, I’ve worked with all kinds of frameworks, databases, and infrastructure setups, basically whatever it takes to ship something solid and maintainable. I like keeping things clean under the hood, obsess a little too much over latency, and genuinely enjoy figuring out how to make backend systems smoother, faster, and more resilient. Outside of work, I’m usually reading up on system design stuff, experimenting with new tools, or just geeking out over architecture diagrams I probably didn’t need to make. Always happy to chat about good tech, better coffee, or anything in between.

  • Re-architected high-throughput Cart and Payments systems at Licious, leading large-scale redesigns focused on scalability, performance, and clean architecture.
  • Led the migration of the Cart Service from Node.js to Spring Boot 3.5 with WebFlux using a fully reactive programming model with Mono and Flux for non blocking I/O and improved resource utilization under high concurrency. Followed an API first approach, maintaining legacy REST contracts for backward compatibility while internally restructuring to domain driven models. Optimized MongoDB schema with denormalized shipment structures for read heavy checkout flows, balancing document oriented embedding with master data integrity. Eliminated O(n²) cart iterations by introducing single pass enrichment during benefit population and profiled reactive chains to remove blocking calls, reducing latency and improving CPU efficiency at peak scale. Implemented hexagonal architecture separating external clients, business layers, and response transformers, and used AOP for tracing and logging to keep domain logic clean. Integrated OpenTelemetry based distributed tracing with custom annotation driven spans and MDC propagation across asynchronous boundaries.
  • Re-architected the Payments Service to build a scalable and extensible payment ecosystem. Redesigned and decluttered the legacy schema into a structured model separating payment instruments, gateway metadata, transaction lifecycle, and provider configurations. Enabled seamless integration of new instruments such as Cred Pay and Ola Money through a configuration driven MongoDB model, minimizing code changes. Designed a dynamic payment gateway injection layer that routes transactions at runtime based on real time health signals, failure rates, and routing rules, improving success rates and resilience. Defined low level designs, standardized gateway adapter abstractions, mentored junior engineers, and ensured production stability while modernizing revenue critical systems.

  • At OneCard, I worked as a backend engineer focused on building and scaling systems for the credit card platform. I led the development of 100+ REST APIs, designed the IBFF (Internal Backend for Frontend) layer, and worked on making micro-services communicate reliably at scale. Most of my work was around building high-availability systems that could handle real-time data exchange across services with minimal downtime and solid performance.

  • OpenAPI and RESTful Services
  • Authored comprehensive OpenAPI specifications to formally document and expose RESTful services. Strong hands-on experience in ER modeling, REST endpoint design, and crafting standards-compliant JSON request and response contracts with emphasis on clarity and backward compatibility.
  • Command Line Utilities and Migration Tools
  • Developed Java-based utilities including:
  • A Migration Utility to transition users from Microsoft SQL Server to Azure AD B2C using Microsoft Graph APIs, ensuring secure identity migration.
  • An Azure Gateway Policy Customization Utility to programmatically modify XML-based Azure API Gateway policies for client-specific configurations.
  • Legacy Modernization
  • Refactored legacy SOAP-based services into RESTful APIs, significantly improving usability, maintainability, and performance while aligning with modern integration standards.
  • Cloud Deployment and API Gateway Integration
  • Designed and developed V3 Authorization Service APIs in Java and deployed them via AWS API Gateway.
