• Re-architected high-throughput Cart and Payments systems at Licious, leading large-scale redesigns focused on scalability, performance, and clean architecture.
• Led the migration of the Cart Service from Node.js to Spring Boot 3.5 with WebFlux using a fully reactive programming model with Mono and Flux for non blocking I/O and improved resource utilization under high concurrency. Followed an API first approach, maintaining legacy REST contracts for backward compatibility while internally restructuring to domain driven models. Optimized MongoDB schema with denormalized shipment structures for read heavy checkout flows, balancing document oriented embedding with master data integrity. Eliminated O(n²) cart iterations by introducing single pass enrichment during benefit population and profiled reactive chains to remove blocking calls, reducing latency and improving CPU efficiency at peak scale. Implemented hexagonal architecture separating external clients, business layers, and response transformers, and used AOP for tracing and logging to keep domain logic clean. Integrated OpenTelemetry based distributed tracing with custom annotation driven spans and MDC propagation across asynchronous boundaries.
• Re-architected the Payments Service to build a scalable and extensible payment ecosystem. Redesigned and decluttered the legacy schema into a structured model separating payment instruments, gateway metadata, transaction lifecycle, and provider configurations. Enabled seamless integration of new instruments such as Cred Pay and Ola Money through a configuration driven MongoDB model, minimizing code changes. Designed a dynamic payment gateway injection layer that routes transactions at runtime based on real time health signals, failure rates, and routing rules, improving success rates and resilience. Defined low level designs, standardized gateway adapter abstractions, mentored junior engineers, and ensured production stability while modernizing revenue critical systems.
