During my internship with the Orion Team at Mercari, I developed, deployed, and managed microservices of the Master and User Social domain. I contributed to the team in the following ways:
Created an endpoint in the master service that fetches reaction data from another microservice, caches it, and serves the cached data. The endpoint currently serves ~ 400 requests/second.
Refactored all the unit and integration test cases of the master service by mocking the interfaces using Mockgen, resulting in improved visibility and convenience of adding new test cases.
Spearheaded the cost optimization for the user-social workers by analyzing Kubernetes resource usage patterns using Datadog.
Created multiple Datadog dashboards and monitoring alerts for endpoints and workers in master and user-social microservices.
Created Repository and Service Layers for the Highly Rated and Speedy Responder Seller Badges Feature and ensured proper error logging for the same.
Updated various onboarding documents and created a separate onboarding document for our team's microservices. Improved documentation for tasks and processes I went through, helping other developers work efficiently.
In this role, I worked with a range of technologies, including Golang, gRPC, Kubernetes, Spanner, DataDog, and Spinnaker.
