  • At Amazon, I served as a Software Development Engineer in the Kindle Core Platform Team. The cornerstone of my responsibilities was the design and development of a robust core framework utilizing C/C++. The framework was designed to be leveraged by internal teams for supporting e-books across diverse devices including Android, E-Ink, Windows, and iOS.
  • Our platform provided a broad spectrum of features essential for optimal e-book user experience. Not only did it support basic functionalities like navigating to a specific page, but it also enabled the partial loading of book artifacts based on page-specific requirements. This efficient utilization of resources greatly improved book performance on various devices.
  • Additionally, the platform catered to personalized user interactions with books such as managing sticky notes, highlighting text, and other annotations. The C/C++ framework ensured these operations were executed seamlessly, contributing significantly to the rich Kindle reading experience.
  • Working in Amazon's Kindle Core Platform Team was a highly enriching experience. It allowed me to tackle complex technical challenges and contribute to the transformation of digital reading experiences.

Junglee games

Technical Architect/Lead

May 2013Apr 2015 · 1 yr 11 mos · Greater Delhi Area

  • My journey at Junglee Games began as one of the founding members and software engineers, with responsibilities spanning across the entire software development life cycle. My primary duty was the development of popular online games like Rummy (in all its 5 variants), Poker, and Teen Patti, among others.
  • As a startup member, I worked closely with the product team, managing requirements and transforming them into engaging and user-friendly games. To ensure smooth user experience, I handled complex technical aspects like client-server communication using WCF Service, resolved scaling issues, and optimized database operations.
  • One of the most significant challenges was to eliminate game disconnections, requiring advanced data structures, algorithms, thread synchronization, and caching. I also coordinated with the marketing team to incorporate features for better customer engagement, like on-table announcements.
  • I'm particularly proud of a few achievements during my tenure at Junglee Games:
  • Launched 21 Card Rummy Product and multiple variants of 13 Card Rummy Product.
  • Achieved a record of hosting 5000 players in a single tournament.
  • Developed the server for the Android version of the 13 Card Rummy Product.
  • Created tools like the 'Tournament Creator' to automate the recurring work of game deployment on live servers.
  • Increased cross-sales by 500%, providing a pivotal platform for the marketing team to boost player numbers.
  • Contributed to a fivefold increase in the company's gross revenue.
  • The technologies I employed in this role included C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, WebSocket, Flash Player, and Event Processing.
