• I was the part of the engineering team for the email platform. This platform currently serves around 20M emails per day. The problem in hand was to scale this platform to serve upto 100M emails per day. I along with the technical architect and the team lead created the architecture for the next-generation platform. I also reinforced deployment automation tools like Jenkins.
• The platform relied on Kafka for the data exchange and used MongoDB as the primary DB. Hbase
• was used as the data repository for collecting and processing historical data. Spark was used to
• extract meaningful data from HBase and make it available for sending emails.
• I was responsible for basically two modules one is scheduling and processing of historical data from the HBase repository. Along with being involved in writing code and planning for data storing in HBase that was in the form of distributed across the 45-50 server.
