Techrail

Open Source Developer

Sep 2023Present · 2 yrs 8 mos · Remote

  • Techrail is a Open Source Organization focused on developing new tools, mostly development-focused, in the open.
  • Led the group and built most of the Bark Logging framework which can log to either stdout or to PostgreSQL. Bark aims to be the stepping stone between plaintext log files and terabyte scale enterprise ready solutions like ELK stack (or NewRelic, DataDog and others of the kind).
  • Wrote the "Ground" library. Ground is a provider library which facilitates multiple tools which can help one build a go service of any size (microservice or monolith). Ground facilitates a NON-ORM Code Generator for PostgreSQL database facilitating code transparency without adding complexities.
  • Build Chamber. Chamber is a cross-platform (Windows, Linux, Mac on ARM or Intel), easy-to-use, encrypted File Vault tool which can also be used as a remote file-hosting solution (without letting the host peek into the vault contents).

  • Overseeing everything in the field of tech that the company dealt with. My responsibilities included Architecting & Programming the backend, API creation & consumption of third-party APIs (Payment Gateway, Facebook and Google), DevOps when required
  • I designed a CI/CD system that worked with GitHub to run tests and push deployments automatically.
  • One of the fun projects I undertook was to create a "Command Based Control" system using Slack's Slash Command API with ACL facilities which allowed the team to interact with the server and get important information via Slack. In addition, I wrote a BOT using Slack's API which could interact (both actively and reactively) with the team and could handle complex tasks which cannot be done using a simple command-based system.
