Sri V.C.Sajjanar is 1996 batch IPS officer allotted to erstwhile AP Cadre and now after bifurcation of State, he was allotted to Telangana Cadre. V.C.Sajjanar is native of Hubli, Karnataka. He is son of Sri. C.B. Sajjanar and Smt. Girija Sajjanar. He did his B.Com from J G College of Commerce, Hubli and MBA from Karnataka University, Dharwar. He completed his initial training at Lal Bahadur Shastri Academy of Administration, Mussoori and later at Sardar Vallabhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad. He started his career as Assistant Superintendent of Police, Janagaon (Warangal district) and later as Assistant Superintendent of Police, Pulivendula (Cuddapah district). On promotion, he was posted as Superintendent of Police of five important districts Nalgonda, Kadapa, Guntur, Warangal and later as SP Medak district. He also worked as Superintendent of Police Crime Investigation Department (Economic Offences Wing) and on promotion as Deputy Inspector General of Police & Inspector General of Police, he worked in Intelligence Department up to March, 2018. He Worked as Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad from March-2018 to August 2021. After he worked as Managing Director of TGSRTC for four years. In September 2025, he took charge as Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City. V.C.Sajjanar, IPS was awarded as “Outstanding Young Officer of the Country” by JayCee’s organisation in 2003 and he was also awarded “Indian Police Medal” for meritorious service in 2014.
