I am a dedicated music educator, performer, writer, and composer with extensive experience across national and international platforms. My journey includes teaching and conducting workshops for Gurukul International in Uttarakhand and Bhopal, as well as mentoring students in the USA and UK. My passion lies in preserving and sharing the ancient art of Dhrupad—the origin of Hindustani classical music, rooted in the chanting of Vedic mantras. Unlike mainstream entertainment music, Dhrupad is a deeply meditative and spiritual form of expression that engages Naad Yoga, using the voice and Tanpura to explore the inner self and create therapeutic soundscapes. Through my work, I strive to inspire, educate, and expand the reach of this timeless tradition. Born in the spiritual and musical heart of Varanasi, Vinay Shukla is an accomplished Dhrupad vocalist known for his deep, meditative renditions and unwavering dedication to India’s oldest classical vocal tradition. A disciple of Pt. Ashish Sankrityayan, who himself is a senior student of Ustad Rahim Fahimuddin Dagar, Vinay represents the Dagar Vani lineage of Dhrupad.
Vinay’s journey in music began with early recognition of his talent. He was awarded a prestigious scholarship by the Madhya Pradesh Government to train under his Guru. His excellence in classical music was further acknowledged with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India Scholarship for Young Artists. In 2015, he secured the Open Youth Festival Prize at the Uttar Pradesh State Level, marking his rising prominence in the field.
