Pramata makes contract management effortless for B2B companies. It serves as a contract repository for a host of fortune 500s. Pramata also helps customers take decisions based on their contracts. Solutions that it offers include, but are not limited to, Renewals and Revenue Leakages. It is a mid sized company with ~50 developers.
I joined Pramata as a Software Engineer in August 2019. My role requires me to own up features right from design to deployment. The tech stack consists of Ruby on Rails, MySQL, React.js, AWS and related services (s3, lambda, cloudformation, cloudfront, ECR, ECS).
Some of my contributions include revamping of the primary write API in the application (which resulted into a 8x performance improvement), design & development of a couple of gems (one for layered access to cloud storage, another for CRUD operations), design & development of a multi tenant DB migrator (on top of the rails migrator), & splitting up into microfrontends.
Splitting up into microfrontends was one of the best architectural decisions that Pramata ever took and I was at its fore front with a sizeable chunk assigned to me. Splitting it up helped us in reducing friction between teams in terms of development and deployments. Teams could now start using different frameworks for depending on their particular need. Lesser dependency between teams also helped teams upgrade to newer software faster. It also helped in scaling the application frontend pretty well. We used AWS cloudfront as our authenticated CDN and I was closely involved in its setup too.
Pramata has a tech talk programme aimed at bringing newer tech to the table. Developers meet up once a month to talk about the latest in the tech industry. I am also responsible for managing and hosting these talks.

gRhapa was founded in the year 2018 with the vision of disrupting the home services sector. It is an all-in-one platform that helps users hire premium service professionals, from beauticians and masseurs to sofa cleaners, carpenters and technicians. It is aimed at empowering service professionals by letting them connect with the end user directly, thus helping them save huge amounts on commissions.
I joined gRhapa right at its inception in the Jan of 2018 (as an intern) and was hired as a full time employee ( Emp code 002 :D ) in less than 3 months. I singled handedly developed most of the backend application. This included features like bookings, payments, notifications, messaging, etc. The tech stack that I worked on mainly included Node.js, Loopback.js & PostgreSQL.
Being a startup gRhapa for the most part had a lot to offer. Latest tech, great business insights, exceptional mentorship were few amongst the list of perks I enjoyed there.
