Barq

Technical Lead

Mar 2023Dec 2024 · 1 yr 9 mos · Remote

  • Built the best Onboarding, Authentication and KYC journey in all wallets in KSA. Built it from scratch to 1M+ fully KYC customers within 1 month and going strong.
  • Projects I lead:
  • 1. Customer Identity - Widely recognised as the best onboarding service in the fintech in KSA region. From requirement gathering to design to code to end product delivery, all was handled by me and a team of 6 members. The most central service in the whole org. It has onboarding, KYC and holds all customer information.
  • 2. Auth Service - Responsible for authentication for the customer and most scaled service. Average response time of under 5ms. This service had best response time and highest throughput in Barq.
  • 3. Contacts Service - Responsible for storing contacts and showing the customer who all are registered barq customers. Highly performant service with average response time of < 30ms for even users who had more than 30k contacts in their phone.
  • 4. Callback Gateway Service - Central service responsible for all callbacks coming to barq. It authenticated the request and then forward the request to the concerned microservice via Kafka for persistence.
  • 5. Data Cleansing Service - Responsible for cleaning data coming from government services. Govt data is generally messy, it helped streamline it.
  • 6. Government Identity Service - Context-less service responsible for connecting with government identity providers. This helps barq re-use the integration for personal, business and WAAS types of accounts.
  • 7. Gateway Plugin - The plugin injected the user and account details in every request hitting any microservice in barq. Very high performant.
  • 8. Location Service - Responsible for deciphering the country of the user is coming from. Central service, it was getting hit in every request coming from barq for compliance reasons. Response time < 1ms.
  • 9. Wiremock Stubs - For mocking the third party services and internal services. Very helpful in creating testing scenarios and automation
