I have specialization in the areas of corrosion and mitigation, coating, electrochemistry, metallurgy, surface engineering, synthesis of novel nanomaterials, metal/polymer composites, Polymeric/metallic/metal oxide coatings, energy, and sensor. I have published 28 research articles in peer-reviewed internationally reputed journals. I have 5 patents to my credit. I can lead a team towards the success of the milestones in the project. I am a mentor. I am passionate in motivating young researchers to achieve their goals is what I consider as my greatest asset. My papers were cited more than 747 times with h-index of 13 and i-10 index of 15. I am a reviewer of 5 international peer journals. • Extensive research experience (14+ years) in material manufacturing (e.g., electrochemical deposition, surface engineering), electrochemical testing, corrosion testing, material characterization, and failure analysis. Skills: • Electrochemical techniques: polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), cyclic voltammetry (CV), rotating disc electrode (RDE), zero resistance ammeter (ZRA), multichannel microelectrode analyzer (MMA), scanning vibrating electrode technique (SVET), and scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM). • Material characterization: scanning electron microscopy/energy dispersive X-ray analysis (SEM/EDXA), electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD), focused ion beam (FIB), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), Raman spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). • Material manufacturing: electroless and electrochemical deposition, anodization, plasma electrolytic oxidation. • Mechanical testing: micro-hardness, nano-indentation, tensile, hydrogen permeation and corrosion fatigue.

  • I am actively involved in the following works:
  •  Electrodeposition of polyaniline coating on mild steel for superhydrophobic application.
  • A simple facile approach has been used to achieve the water contact angle of >1500 with rolling superhydrophobic surface on polyaniline coated mild steel specimen.
  •  Polypyrrole coated flexible electrodes for supercapacitor and battery applications.
  • Oxidative polymerized polypyrrole coated cost-effective flexible electrodes were successfully prepared from different materials like A4 sheet, tea bag, cotton cloth, green and dry leaves etc. This could be a novel and cost-effective electrode material for energy storage device like supercapacitors.
  •  Composite coating for the multi-functional application.
  • Highly corrosion resistant novel carbon nano onion (CNO) based composite coating has been developed with impedance value > 1010 Ωcm2 in 3.5 % NaCl solution. It has exhibited excellent corrosion inhibition during long term immersion in the corrosive medium.
  • Cenosphere and hallow carbon nano sphere-based composite coatings being developed for radiative day time cooling application.
  •  Oil pipeline corrosion/scale inhibitor
  • Green corrosion inhibitors to be developed for reducing the interfacial tension and corrosion resistance of gasoline pipelines.
