I work on AlfBus team. AlfBus is fault tolerant, high performance, durable, log publishing service. It is a foundational and tier-0 service in AWS. It is designed to be used as a commit log underlying strongly consistent distributed applications such as databases, KV stores, etc. A bunch of public AWS services like S3, SQS, EC2, Kinesis, etc. are built on top of AlfBus.
My day-to-day technical work largely revolves around fault tolerance and performance of the replication algorithm and the underlying consensus algorithm (Paxos implementation).
As a senior engineer on the team, few of the key things I do, in addition to my day-to-day work: mentoring and growing the members of the team, leading through operational events, participating in planning of team/org roadmap, and more.
