  • Ok, So here’s the story.
  • I’m sort of on a real-life “Humans of India” tour. Somehow, I find myself having long and deep conversations with people who are either running or planning to launch a business (of any kind and scale). From the Chaiwala in Shillong who dreams of becoming the next MBA Chaiwala, to local artists in Rajasthan who wanna setup their business online, SMEs owners in Rajkot generating amazing revenue, and young founders in Kerala with big plans. And it’s been epic.
  • And Btw, It's not just story sessions, Most of the time I end up actually brainstorming, throwing in ideas, sharing some insights, linking them to people I know who can help out, and sometimes even putting in some skin (and cash) if their dreams fire me up. (I think, I should learn to formally invest in startups :P)
  • It is so exciting to see every story has gotten its own energy. Sometimes it’s about breaking down a problem and introducing them to some tools to solve the same, other times just being the nudge they need. And you know what's the best part? Seeing this crazy mix of people all with this unshakable drive to build something, at least I get inspired. (Much more effective than random motivational business podcasts on Youtube :D)
  • Yeah, it’s turning into something way more than I could have ever expected.

Zigalabs

Founder & CEO

Oct 2016Oct 2017 · 1 yr · Bangalore

  • As the founder and CEO of a startup focused on providing a solution for educational hubs, I led a team of 40+ full-time and part-time employees to develop a suite of products that supported online learning. We built our fully managed tech solution at a time when technology in the education sector was not yet mainstream in India.
  • The product was designed to support features such as online video lectures, daily practice problems with solutions, real-time doubt management, gamified quizzes with multiple levels, and daily feeds with likes and comments functionality. Our product was unique in that it offered real-time delivery of new content, similar to a chat app, and was supported by cloud infrastructure from Firebase and AWS.
  • Throughout my time as CEO, I roamed around India to gather requirements and talk to teachers and students about their issues and possible solutions. Thanks to this hard work and dedication, I was able to secure 20+ clients to start off with.

Campus connect (college startup)

Founder

Jan 2015Apr 2016 · 1 yr 3 mos · Kozhikode, Kerala, India

  • CampusConnect(CC) was a help networking platform that aims to provide a platform for mutual assistance among students. This app allowed users to seek or offer help in a variety of areas. These include academics, extra-curricular activities, emergencies, financial assistance, and more. At its peak, we had 100,000+ students from 80+ colleges around South India, generating more than 500 help requests every day.
  • I started it as a pet project in college as the idea emerged from my observation that many students struggle with various aspects of college life and may not have access to reliable support and resources. With CC, students can connect with each other to find help or provide help, creating a collaborative and supportive community.
  • The app's AI-based(atleast those days it was pretty coooooool) system matches users based on their interests, skills, and needs, making it easy to find the right help at the right time. For example, a student struggling with math can find another student who excels in that subject. Similarly, a student who needs financial help can connect with someone willing to lend money.
  • Overall, CC was a much-required solution to the challenges faced by college students. By providing a platform for mutual assistance, the app helps students build a supportive community and access the resources they need to succeed in college and beyond.

Squareyard

Software Engineer

May 2014Oct 2014 · 5 mos

  • As an intern at SquareYard, I worked on a unique solution to a common problem - "Deciding on a location to meet up with friends who live in different parts of the city".
  • Developing Location Optimizer, an app that takes multiple locations as input and provides a list of equidistant places to meet up. Beyond its use for social outings, Location Optimizer was also intended for use in real estate applications. With this app, users could identify properties that were in a location that worked well for them and their families, taking into account factors like the location of their office, their spouse's office, and their child's school.
  • My time at SquareYard was also significant in that it introduced me to the world of entrepreneurship at an early stage in my career. Building Location Optimizer helped me realize my passion for creating innovative solutions to real-world problems, and inspired me to start my own venture in college.
