• In charge of Development, QA, Devops, and Data Science of Palo Alto Networks cloud Delivered Services. Products that were built in my teams: Application Framework, Autofocus, Wildfire, URL filtering.
• Application Framework: In this platform, we can collect exabytes of data from our 50K+ customers and enable 3rd party and internal developers to develop and operate their apps on top of this data lake.
• We are using technologies such as kafka, Elastic Search, Hadoop, Spark, Impala, Presto, K8s to move the big data through stages, provide streaming processing, indexing/query and batch processing capabilities on top of them. In this new model, developers can focus on their algorithm rather how to collect and move data. The consumers can test a new app with a click of a button rather than installing several devices on their networks and end points.
• AutoFocus: Started from an idea to provide a data lake for our internally produced data by various teams. I assembled a focused team to innovate, experiment, evaluate and do a POC. Formed the idea and worked on productizing and delivering the product. It has turned into a central place for security operators or researchers to get the current or historical data for any malicious activity.
• Wildfire: One of the the largest sandboxing environment in the industry to detect malwares and graywares. This project got started in security research team, but as the product gain traction, my team worked on handling scalability and high availability issues.
• URL filtering: Crawling different sites, running machine learning to classifying them and provide intelligence back to the firewall to do proper enforcement.
