HalaPlay is a Real Money Gaming (RMG) platform that allows both serious and casual gamers to enjoy and earn from their favourite games. Fantasy sports (Cricket, Football, Kabaddi), Rummy, and quizzes are among the platform's offerings, with fantasy sports being the most prominent.
RMG-Fantasy sports have the potential to be the next big thing in sports, as they have been shown to boost fan participation exponentially.
Kae Capital, Nazara Games (NSE: NAZARA), and Delta India (NSE: DELTACORP) were among the institutional investors who contributed to the company's growth capital in three rounds (seed, pre-series A, and Series A).
In January 2019, HalaPlay acquired LeagueAdda, a fantasy portal, in order to increase its market share.
In December 2020, the founders exited the venture to existing investors in a cash deal. This entailed a seamless transition of company processes, infrastructure, and staff. This also meant grooming the next generation of leaders from within the business in order to ensure sustainable development.
