• This project was a part of the Virtual Labs initiative, by the Ministry of Human
• Resource Development (MHRD), in order to provide access to Virtual Laboratories,
• for students/colleges with limited resources.
• Our project entailed building a complete, end-to-end web portal application, based
• on the MVC approach. We had to first ascertain the software requirements for this
• application, based on which we had to build a data model, an object model, and a
• persistence (database) model, along with a REST implementation. We followed the
• Agile Software Development model. For the back-end, we used Python for most of
• the code. To integrate SQL into the back-end, we used SQLAlchemy, which is a
• Python library to provide a high-level Pythonic interface for relational databases.
• For the front-end, we used HTML, CSS and Bootstrap for static web page design,
• and AngularJS for the dynamic interface.
