I'm Parth Vinod Patil, a Robotics Engineer with over three years of experience developing advanced autonomous systems. Currently pursuing my Master's in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University. I specialize in controls, navigation, and machine learning. I led the development of a swarm of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and architected a Fleet Management Service capable of managing any fleet of robots. AUV-IITB is a team of engineers at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, who work on developing autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV) for participating in AUVSI Robosub Competition in San Diego. Our AUV, named MATSYA, has a 5 million INR budget and is equipped with visual, acoustic, and depth sensors, and underwater communication systems for realistic naval missions.
As the Software Subdivision Lead for AUV-IITB from July 2019 to June 2020, I led the team to secure first place in the NIOT SAVe competition in 2016 and 2018 with a 100% task completion rate and reach the semi-finals of RoboSub 2019. I also integrated YOLO V2 for vision, resulting in a significant increase in detection accuracy for abstract objects, and developed a Minimal Mission planner that required 80% fewer parameters than the existing planner.
