I always thought my dream was to become a construction manager. White engineer cap on my head, standing in the heat looking at A3 drawing sheets and making high-impact decisions around material, manpower, and machines. It seemed like an appropriate dream given my M.Tech in Construction Management. I held my hand high when the opportunity came to take on-site civil internships. But after 3 internships, I realized three things: 1) It's a slow-growing industry 2) It's more or less crooked. 3) It's going to take a lot of money to build something of my own in this field And it made me feel like I yearned more. Yearned to learn something more impactful. That's when it happened; I got an offer from a startup to grow their Delhi business. What channels to use, and how to use them effectively? What can I say differently to influence a decision? How can I fine-tune the messaging to become more relevant? I loved it. Loved everything about it. Suddenly, I found myself observing my surroundings deeper. Airports, subways, malls, and everything I read online told me the story of a business trying to grow. Over the years, I honed my business-building skills. I excel at deep problem-solving, learning new skills, structural thinking, and relentless execution. This year, I aim to improve my copywriting skills and dive deep into YouTube growth strategies. Over the weekends, I read witty comedy books, go through content newsletters, play with my dog, and watch a Netflix thriller.

  • We also worked on 2 Harvard Business School case studies. We had to compare and contrast between the 3 options available for the firm and recommend the optimal and most impactful option.
  • In my final project, I came up with an idea of a dating app, developed strategies to target the right segment and performed competitive analysis.

  • This internship was at Wave City Center Project, Noida, India. I started off the by identifying the operational sources of delay by using work sampling technique. After identification, I and my fellow intern friend narrowed down our focus on stringer-beam activity and suggested 35% cycle-time improvement using lean tools. We also investigated material handling issues and brought down the number of vehicle exchanges involved. This curtailed the time and cost to the company.
  • During the last week of the internship, we were closely monitoring the floor to floor completion cycle time and were striving to bring it down. We identified a shaft-work being reworked over 18 times in every floor and proposed a better shaft-making methodology to improve the same.
  • During the entire course of time, I met brilliant growth-mindset people at Aecom and it was an amazing experience to work with them.
