About

Banker-turned-Entrepreneur... An avid traveller who loves to find new adventures along the way. I have found that nothing satisfies me more than meeting new people, developing new relationships and contributing to the growth of businesses. Above all, I like to solve problems. I started my career crunching numbers, first as a Chartered Accountant and then, as an Investment Banker. Innate curiosity led me to develop a knack for understanding trends underlying industries such as building materials, consumer goods and metals and mining. Over time, I became an advisor of choice at Bank of America Merrill Lynch for clients such as the Aditya Birla Group, Carlyle PE, Vedanta Resources and CRH. The biggest achievement for me was being offered advisory assignments even after I had quit investment banking. That decade at Merrill Lynch, I observed not only a transition in industry but also my company – from DSP Merrill Lynch to Merrill Lynch to Bank of America Merrill Lynch – more importantly, observed how the transitions were handled, by me and others around me. I have since taken everything I’ve learnt and co-started my own venture, DRiefcase, into digital healthcare (5 years & counting). At DRiefcase, we are trying to solve for just one question – how do you get a person to digitize his/her medical records? Leading the B2C marketing effort, I soon learnt that it is not as much about the tools & technology or the latest growth hack – it’s so much about the messaging, the storytelling, and understanding people. As a team we spoke to easily >100k people, before we hit upon an answer. That unique perspective on NDHM led us to help design the personal health locker framework for the recently announced National Digital Health Mission (NDHM) – a game changer in the way we deliver healthcare in India.
