Joined not knowing I’d be leading the entire HR function, but the founders trusted me, and I leaned in. I walked into messy sheets, scattered hiring, undefined KPIs, and unclear structures. Over time, I led and built a team of 4–5 associates, streamlined our hiring process with an ATS, and closed roles in record time (fastest: 10 days). I created systems that helped us better evaluate creative talent, redefined job descriptions, and built a full KPI and performance management system from scratch, including 360° feedback and a more thoughtful appraisal process. I also sourced a better insurance provider, revamped our POSH framework, and planned my first full-scale team offsite. Along the way, I unlearned toxic agency habits, reimagined what HR could look like, and eventually moved into the role of Head of HR.

This was my first "big-girl" job. Where I learned how to turn all the HR theory and research I’d studied into actual, hands-on work. I streamlined our leave, comp-off, and WFH processes by implementing an HR portal, managed end-to-end hiring across both tech and non-tech roles, and introduced initiatives like a Performance Improvement Plan and an Upskilling Development Plan.
I also worked on improving internal HR processes, ran employee engagement surveys, organized team-building activities, and handled onboarding and exits smoothly.
While the role gave me a strong foundation, I left because I was looking for more ownership and accountability - a place where I could build, lead, and have a clearer impact on the people experience.

Right after college, I took on a short but meaningful teaching fellowship, where I taught 47 students across 4th and 5th grades at an under-resourced private school in Chembur. I initiated a "Design for Change" project to help students identify and solve real issues in their community, encouraging them to think critically and act locally.
While I would have wanted stay beyond the 2-month stint and continued, because I believed in the work and the impact it could bring, I eventually stepped away. The emotional and mental demands of the role were high, and I felt the need to realign my energy and focus toward my long-term aspirations.

Over the past years, I’ve built a gifting experience rooted in nostalgia, scaled it to ₹30L+ in annual revenue, led a small team, and collaborated with schools and colleges to inspire early entrepreneurs. The journey continues, with every letter written by hand and heart.
