Sonali Agrawal — Senior Software Engineer
My story-https://medium.com/checkout-com-techblog/checkout-com-interview-a-software-engineers-journey-from-india-to-london-9ff4d0e9dba0 Joined the payment revolution in Gateway team at Checkout.com as a Software Engineer 2! I help scale up Checkout.com payment gateway and work on smart routing of payment requests through the gateway of checkout.com. Before this, I was a Software Engineer at Microsoft for 4 years where I drove global invoicing programs, processed and saved billions of dollars by working in the Modern Invoicing system which ensures reliable and accurate invoicing and keeps up with the varying tax regulations of various countries all around the world. I also worked as a product owner and developer of a Microsoft web-based ASP .NET Core platform that enables business users to make backend system changes to Live Financial Systems to save money spent in escalations to engineering support teams. My work majorly includes automation engineering using Python, Powershell and Selenium; big data analysis on Kusto, application development, testing, deployments of monthly releases, infrastructure-related optimizations on Azure, performance enhancements, compliance tasks, reliability and availability improvements, livesite, direct communication with our end-users to resolve issues, user education etc. Looking back, I knew I wanted to be a software engineer right from school in class 4th when I got introduced to programming. Logo in Standard 4th, BASIC in 5-8th, Java in 9-10th & C++ in 11-12th. The zeal fired up when I converted a software idea to a console application in a week in Std. 10th for real estate. My college was spent with 4 internships, 7-8 major projects & multiple small projects which led me to an inclination towards applications of machine learning like Twitter Sentiment Analysis and Recommender System through which I devised two novel and efficient algorithms for Online Recommender System as part of my Undergrad Research which were faster than the popular ones I experimented it against. My other most fulfilling opportunity was my internship at Microsoft Garage (Foundry) where I learnt unexplored technologies to convert an idea into a shippable product within 6 weeks. My love for public speaking stems from my successful pitch of the product to the CVP and Chief Information Security Officer of Microsoft. - Youtube: TheRoad2Code - CodersRank profile: https://profile.codersrank.io/user/sonali9696 - GitHub profile: https://github.com/sonali9696 - StackOverflow profile: https://stackoverflow.com/users/6370135/sonali-agrawal
