• After having grown apart from my organic venture Athinio, handed off to my other partners and joined Juniper for a fresh life !. Worked with Multi-layer switching and security group at Juniper as part of core R&D team. Worked on Juniper's defining switching hardware innovation product series (summit family). Later worked on TPM integration switching module and the NSX to VSRX bridging and EastWest VM and container security. Involved in miscellaneous work with other Junos/SRX families. Virtualization technology integration to switching products...containerized firewalls/IPS....
• and then the following happens !
• Identified my core gravitas - and decided to go back to the trade i am passionate about - systems and storage, and this time with a security at the center ! And soon became pregnant with the ideas for NervioCloud, bringing security-by-design to Storage systems and left Juniper to give birth to my next child - Neridio as i could not control it; it just arrived !

• Athinio is in the business of making cloud-integrated data management and DR simple, secure and highly available combining onPrem based file storage and erasure coded object storage in public clouds or off-site vaults, primarily targeting ROBO data integration and Multi-Cloud data management.
• Raised just the necessary money from private investors , did all market engineering, saw all product ideas in mind before founding the company, built and rebuilt team members over and over, built , engineered, wrote code for all the software pieces for a multi-site, disaster-tolerant storage gateway and object storage myself with hand and created paying customers, as one-in-all /all-in-one Engineer/CTO/Sales/Marketing officer (aka Single Parent).
• As part of Athinio engagement with IIIT Bangalore, also enjoyed my life as an adjunct professor at IIIT Bangalore.

• Initially worked for a client project ( Nortel networks) as the system architect on Alteon web switch(Multilayer(L2-L7) switch. Later started a new division for storage networking R&D at calsoftlabs, funded by the CEO for internal IP development/fostering intrapreneurship,.As part of this internal venture, conceived, architected and built secure NAS virtualization switch(NFS/CIFS aware) from scratch , as the intellectual property of calsoftlabs targeting storage OEMs.

Dec 2003 – Aug 2006 · 2 yrs 8 mos

• NetDiox(Acronym for NETworked Data Input Output eXtened) was a not-for-profit research start up focusing on network storage, data security, WAN optimization and data engineering research and very advanced educational services. Institution was funded by the nominal fees paid by the trainees/researchers.. Provided training with research projects on core Linux kernel development, TCP/IP stack development, RTOS , device drivers etc.A clustering stack HPC segment that eliminates TCP processing over head for storage I, Storage replication stack with integrated WAN optimizer(For iSCSI traffic), A content-aware compressor, and related tools were some of the projects executed. Guided all researchers, software engineers, trainees.

Oct 1998 – Oct 2003 · 5 yrs · Various states in the United States.

• Held various R&D consulting positions as a System, platform Security, Unix kernel /Protocol stack developer at different product companies like USWest Communications, BellCore, IBM systems storage lab, HP,BMC software and a couple of startups, in the United states.
• I was mostly part of R&D projects like ISCP (Bellcore product on intelligent wireless message switching and routing on SS7 network ), SANFS(IBM's Distributed SAN file system that pioneered the concept of split metadata and data plane architecture. Played the role as a OS kernel developer building filesystem Security components on AIX, Windows and Linux kernels), HP-UX/IA64 compiler/linker (HP office in Cupertino). Played the role as a development/design engineer. During this period , Also executed projects single-handedly at corporations like Pershing technology center( R&D division of DLJ,NJ developed a security layer for stock trading message exchange platforms on X.25 network. Played the role as Architect and developer building the full stack from paper to production), CDC systems( systems division of Coin Depot corporation, building security enhancements to raw DB kernel with file system modifications), and at few startups, like ANTS software(merged to IBM later)( an in-memory database engine vendor, where i built an in-memory run-time linker/assembler for Sparc Architecture, from scratch ).
• Was lucky to be part of many version-1 development of seminal research projects as a kernel developer/system security programmer and more importantly multi-disciplinary domain expertise across systems, storage, security and networks.

• Worked on various software projects at Tata Elxsi. Worked on cobol compiler tool to automate y2k conversion for GE. Through TCS(Tata consultancy services) worked on US West communications (Denver,CO) on their FAS (lucent product) product.

Jan 1995 – Dec 1996 · 1 yr 11 mos

• worked on Hard Real time systems (defibrillator medical equipment control systems) based on VxWorks/embedded systems on m68k board. Developed various tools/stub drivers on SunOS as part of white-box testing and code verification. Used C and assembly language as part of the implementation. Developed good amount of Unix/Vxworks based code .
