After having contributed several models to the library (TAPAS by Google AI, the Vision Transformer by Google AI, Data-efficient Image Transformers by Facebook AI, LUKE by Studio Ousia and DETR by Facebook AI), I got the opportunity to become part of the open-source team of HuggingFace. I'm mostly working on adding new algorithms to the library, answering Github issues and reviewing pull requests.

iRPA4SME: a project in which we investigate the use of AI for RPA (Robotic Process Automation) for Flemish SMEs across Belgium. Use cases involve automatic email classification and invoice processing using state-of-the-art neural network techniques. I mainly work on Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques.
AI4CAST: a project in which we research state-of-the-art AI algorithms for demand/sales forecasting, in collaboration with a number of well known retail/logistic companies across Belgium. Approaches typically involve deep learning.
Besides that, I help the lecturers of the AI Business Professional programme with the preparation of the teaching materials of courses such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Deep Learning as a Service and AI ethics.

Junior Business Analyst

For six weeks during the summer of 2018, I did an internship at Dataline Solutions in Loppem, near Bruges. I was responsible for the business- and functional analysis of a new software system, code-named Claro. Claro is a web-based "do-it-yourself" quality management system that enables a company to automatically obtain certification for a standard such as ISO 9001. It was an enormously instructive and engaging experience. I not only learned a lot about how a business analysis works in practice, I also learned to think more critically and work together as a team.

Smartphone Junior Trainer

Thanks to Think and Go, a field marketing company, I got the chance to work as a Smartphone Junior Trainer for well-known multinational LG Electronics. This job consisted of visiting 60+ telecom shops in all corners of West Flanders, Belgium. In each shop, I gave the sales team a product training about one of LG's newest smartphones and installed some POS material. My goal was to convince the sales team that the product was worth a sell. This job was a great experience in the commercial sector.
