I am Nischal. 😁 As a part of the claims team at Acko Insurance, I work with the product and business teams to provide our health insurance users with a hassle-free claims process on the Acko app. Before Joining Acko, I was part of the customer success team at Jupiter Money for couple of years, where I worked with support teams to provide delight to our customers whenever they faced an issue while using our banking app, Jupiter. Before being a part of Jupiter Money, I served as a software engineer at GeekyAnts, India for a year. I worked as a full-time consultant for an off-shore client, an early-stage startup operating in the prop-tech space in North America.

At Acko, I work as a UI Engineer-II in the health insurance vertical.
I joined here in mid-2024, in the B2B team and rebuilt the insurance policy authoring platform from scratch. The platform is currently powering every Group Medical Coverage (GMC) policy in the Acko ecosystem.
Starting FY 2025-26, I joined the D2C team inside claims, started out with a new claims education initiative - a dedicated, self-serve section built to guide customers through every step of the claims journey. Whether it's a planned hospitalisation, emergency treatment, reimbursement, or advance cash request, customers can now access structured, easy-to-understand guidance right within the app.
After which, I took complete ownership of the claim reimbursement flow within the Acko app. The work spanned multiple modules including the reimbursement guide, treatment info flow, document proof upload, and payment screens with releasing it in a segmented rollout ensuring seamless migration for existing users through feature flags and phased releases.
Apart from my daily work, I participated in Ackathon '24, Acko's internal engineering hackathon in 2024, and developed the complete frontend for a D2C health app, which ranked in the top 10 out of 45 submissions across the company.

Jupiter

I worked on the app side for Customer Success(CS) at Jupiter, building solutions to power all use cases, streamlining agent-customer interactions, and improving support speeds. This pivotal role resulted in significant business impact, delivering cost savings in the tens of crores for the company.
I worked on a business critical feature from the lending side on Jupiter by revamping the SMS reading functionality on android devices. I implemented the feature as the sole UI engineer by making the reading of messages bi-directional with respect to date for a given offset date. This feature was completely end-to-end on Android(Kotlin) and as a result, we unblocked the personal loan sanctioning from our end which had a direct impact on the bottom line of the business.
Architected and implemented a dynamic widget on the Home Screen of the Jupiter app called Resume Widget. This UI component was completely back-end driven and was shown whenever a user leaves in between his/her journey and will also be dropped based on a limited number of views of the widget by the same user. This widget had an instant impact upon launch and reduced the drop-off rate in journeys such as loans by a quarter of the previous rate.
Headed the design and development of uploading customer files(images/documents/videos) across the app. This project enabled the resolution of users’ queries from chat/call channels without creating a separate ticket with an e-mail on the CS end. As a result, we achieved a monthly business impact of a > 10% reduction in email ticket volumes.

I served as the sole front-end engineer for a real-estate client based in North America in leading development for their existing web-based product built with Next.js, and Redux and also contributing to backend systems built with Express with PostgreSQL.
Pioneered a platform-agnostic Chrome extension from scratch which had a built-in web scraping with complete UI orchestration on React 16 and Redux-toolkit.
I was tasked as one of the founding engineers in developing a blockchain web app on the same business paradigm using Next.js with Metamask integration.
