Joined the Department of Urban Planning , School of Planning and Architecture,SPA New Delhi as a lecturer in 1981. Retired as the Dean of Studies-2012. Held the posts of the Head of the departments of Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Architectural Conservation and helped SPA start ,for the first time in India the UG course in Planning. (B.Planning). Served on juries /advisory and key committees of Council of Architecture, Indian Institute of Town Planners, AICTE, DDA,NCR board, Delhi Urban Arts Commission etc. and involved with Planning and Architectural education in the country. On advisory boards of several Architecture/Planning institutes in the country Presented papers in international forum at Jogjakarta (UNDP) on conservation of ‘Katras’ of Shahajahanabad, Singapore (EAROPH) ,Tokyo(World Water Forum), Istanbul , Porto and Perm-Russia(International society of city and regional planners ISOCARP) ,Salisbury ( Alliance of Religious Conservation ) Hawaii ( Institute of American Planners) Kyoto (University of Kyoto)and many other destinations in India. Member of jury in National and International Architecture and Urban Design competitions. Adviser Delhi Urban Art Commission Member Delhi Urban Heritage Foundation in 2014. Member core committee of adviser for IIM Udaipur and Sirmaur (H.P) Currently Professor, visiting faculty in the Deptt. of Urban Planning, SPA, Delhi An executive member of the PARZOR foundation ( a programe initiated by UNESCO for documentation of the heritage of Parsees-Zoroastrians) and projected the interest of PARZOR in the field of tangible heritage , at Kyoto and Salisbury and other places in India Retired from SPA since 2012,independent consultant since. Spending time as visiting lectures,juries for architecture and planning courses across schools in India, writing for independent journals,sketching reading and travelling .
