Chitra Chandrashekhar (She/ Her) — Founder
Chitra Chandrashekhar, is a creative designpreneur and founder-proprietor of Mographies, residing in Chennai, India. Trained as an architect from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi and as a visual communication designer from IDC School of Design, IIT Bombay, Chitra has transitioned from envisioning architectural spaces to visualising graphical stories for fun, frugal and purposive civic engagements enabling meaning making and placemaking. In 2013, Chitra also started teaching higher education students of design, architecture, technology and business, developing an expeditionary approach to facilitate creative co-learning that she herself experienced in non formal hands-on skilling workshops and time bound master classes inside and outside formal classrooms. Her diverse interests, skills (leadership, coordination, visual, verbal and spatial concept design, sketching, voice narration etc.) and keenness to bridge systemic information gaps between theory and practice of eco-socially responsible design, led her to explore inter/ cross/ transdisciplinary research in turn unravelling many interwoven micro stories and macro myths, making up her repertoire of stories about complex and plural realities. Her creative contributions include: IIT Madras' XTIC group's White Paper on Experiential Technologies (2024), MOOC on Southern Perspectives on Arts Education, APECV, (2023), Deutsche Museum's Meaning Making-Season 3: Demystifying Co-production (2022), Ligament (Vol 3) via Goethe Institute's 'Writing on Dance' Lab, during 10th Attakkalari International Biennial (2022); Conflictorium Museum and Stroom Den Haag's book, Elephant in the Room: Infrastructures of Signaling in the Arts (2022); The Power of Facilitation: Making It Easy for Groups to Achieve Amazing Results (2021) and Pratham Storyweaver's open-source illustrations for story led language learning (2015). She scripted and recorded talks produced by the All India Radio General Overseas Service (2013). Govt. of NCR's, Sahitya Kala Parishad selected her as a Visual Arts Workshop Director for Annual 5 Weeks Summer Camp@ S.Delhi Municipal School (2015). Curated Children's artworks were displayed in a culminating public exhibition at AIFACS Gallery. She won 1st Prize (Professional) for TShirt concept and illustration celebrating 25 years of Kalakad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve.
