About

My research interest is focused on exploring the in-situ mechanisms of photo-electrocatalytic reactions, specifically focusing on processes like water splitting and CO2 reduction reactions using the electrochemical microscopy technique. My goal is to comprehend how defects, crystal planes, and surface active sites influence the catalytic activity of catalysts. During my doctoral research, I concentrated on designing perovskite heterojunction photocatalysts for converting CO2 into valuable fuels and hydrocarbons, along with degrading organic contaminants through photo-induced processes. This involved studying the photophysical properties of hybrid photocatalysts at the contact interface to enhance photocatalytic activity. Initially, I explored the impact of sintering temperature and oxygen vacancies on the photocatalytic dye degradation performance of oxide perovskite heterojunction photocatalysts. Subsequent investigations focused on strategies to improve the photocatalytic CO2 reduction performance of lead-free halide double perovskite (Cs2AgBiBr6). These strategies included variations in the synthesis approach, interface engineering through co-catalyst loading, encapsulation, defect passivation, and tailoring surface properties to enhance selectivity and productivity.

  • My doctoral research is focused on the rational design of perovskite heterojunction photocatalysts for CO2 conversion (to valuable fuels and hydrocarbons) and photo-induced organic contaminant degradation. It also involves the study of the photophysical properties of the hybrid photo-catalysts at the contact interface. I have investigated the impact of parameters such as sintering temperature, vacancy, defect and its passivation, co-catalyst amount, band-gap engineering, morphology, and thermodynamic regulation to obtain improved photocatalytic activity.
  • # I have studied the effect of sintering temperature and oxygen vacancies on photocatalytic dye degradation performance is investigated for oxide perovskite heterojunction photocatalysts.
  • # Further studies emphasize on strategies adopted to improve the photocatalytic CO2 reduction performance of lead-free halide double perovskite (Cs2AgBiBr6), including synthesis approach, interface engineering (varying co-catalyst loading), encapsulation, defect passivation, and tailoring surface properties to achieve selectivity as well as to increase the productivity.
