• Paper2Audio is a site / phone app for listening to research papers. We use the latest AI techniques to read your papers to you, including inline summaries of any tables, figures or code blocks. We cut out cruft like page numbers and references. Paper2Audio also can create and read summaries of your papers too. We founded it in late 2024.
• Older projects:
• PerfectRec is a personalized recommendation engine powered by human product experts and machine learning. We recommend which electronics to buy, such as smartphones and laptops, helping people find the right product, save time and save money. We pivoted, but you can try our our now outdated product at PerfectRec.com if you're curious.
• We also started a wiki for products: ProdWiki.com. We built an AI system to write the first draft of articles, to save contributors a ton of time. It didn't take off, so we moved on to Paper2Audio.

• I primarily worked on designing and analyzing product and marketing experiments, and on market design questions related to monetization and pricing. I was also finishing my dissertation during this time. I wrote the 3rd chapter of my dissertation based on an experiment with Google Search ads and their impact on competing companies.

• I co-founded Collage.com, which is the place to go if you want to print photos onto a wide range of products while having a great end-to-end experience. It evolved from a one-off project, to an ongoing hobby, to a side business and then to being my job for about 6 years. We were fairly quirky as both a bootstrapped and remote company from the start. I focused as a leader on promoting a culture of curiosity, collaboration, feedback and debate, global optimization, individual empowerment and fun. We focused a lot on learning about our customers' very specific needs, goals and problems, via a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods. In Q1 2021, our team had about 60 people on it, and we sold the company to PSG, a private equity group, which combined it with Shootproof (Saas software for photographers to manage their business) into the newly formed Foreground, which serves both photo consumers and professionals.

• I worked on SharePoint as a software developer as my first job after college. It was a great experience for many reasons, and I learned a ton. I first worked on many general software features, then I specialized more into security and performance.
