About

I am a neuroscientist, researcher, educator and food practitioner. Currently, I work on projects on queer-trans mental health, the intersection of food and queer identity, indigenous food pathways as well as the neuroscience of engaging with the arts. As a researcher, I have worked in academic, clinical and corporate settings in areas of mental health, autism, gender and arts-based interventions. I have a PhD in neuroscience and post-doctoral training from University of Montreal. My work has been published in international journals such as Lancet Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Nature Translational Psychiatry, and Cerebral Cortex. I was a founding member and behavior science lead of a digital wellness startup called Atom. I have co-authored the mental health care guidelines in the Indian Standards of Care for gender-diverse people, published by ATHI in 2021 as well as the first survey-based study to assess the anticipated impact of the marriage equality judgement for LGBTQIA+ people. I am a longlisted fellow for the India Science book fellowship and a certified peer-support counsellor for queer-trans people. As a co-creator of the G-stop, an online collective to create and advance discourse on gender in all its pervasive contexts, I am passionate about building a collaborative knowledge and support network between organizations and communities at the centre of gender-related issues. As the founder of Goblette, I study and explore traditional food preservation and preparation practices like fermentation to explore cuisines, condiments and continents. I am open to all opportunities where I can integrate my various skills and interests to make a tangible impact on the world.
