During my training period my role was to investigate the various kinds of "Chassis Assembly defects" on a real time production line.
As a part of this we studied the various stages involved in a production line and defects at every shops :-
1. Body Assembly shop
2. Chassis Assembly shop
3. Bus Body Manufacturing shop
4. Pre-Delivery Inspection
Defects found were analysed for the frequency and types on stipulated charts namely - Flowchart, Histogram, Checksheet etc.
Cause were investigated which predominantly included :
1. Loose Bolts
2. Incorrect Air gauge Pressure
3. Clutch Priming
4. Coolant and Diesel Leak
5. Wrong Vin punching etc.
Proper measures were taken in order to minimize these defects in accordance with the defect type and their frequency of occurance.
