Prior to joining Sequoia, she was the head of government relations for Salesforce in India & South Asia, and engaged with all external stakeholders on data privacy and cloud computing regulations. Previously, she led the Public Policy team at Uber across South Asia, enabling positive regulatory frameworks for ride-sharing and digital payments. Before joining the world of public policy, Shweta spent 18 years as a business journalist with leading media organisations actively covering the economic policymaking landscape in India. An award-winning mediaperson, she travelled regularly as a part of the Prime Minister's delegations to cover global economic events like the IMF-World Bank meetings and G20 Summits. She also provided extensive coverage of the World Economic Forum (WEF)’s Annual Meeting in Davos for several years.
