Dr. Abha Rishi — CEO
Dr Abha Rishi, Executive Head of the Madhya Pradesh Startup Centre (MPSC), the MP state government's nodal agency for entrepreneurship was the co-chair of the Foundation Task Force Committee from India, for Startup20 in the G20. With more than 30 years of experience in industry and academia, she is a recognized leader and mentor in the field of incubation, innovation & entrepreneurship and is a speaker at many international events. She holds a PhD, a PGDIBO, and an EEC ( Honors) from Stanford University and is one of the few Indians to hold two prestigious scholarships: Chevening (University of Oxford) and Fulbright (Rutgers University, USA). As a senior faculty at BIMTECH, she has established and led the Atal Incubation Centre AIC BIMTECH and the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development, along with the Goldman Sachs 10K Women global project in UP and Orissa. She has received multiple awards and accolades for her contributions to the entrepreneurial ecosystem. She has mentored more than 4000 women and students and is focused on making a positive impact in the world through her probono work as President in CSV, a Chevening alumni initiative. An avid traveler, she has traveled extensively across 35+ countries on five continents, as part of her work and research. She has been conferred the following awards: 2021: the Global Women in Leadership Award 2021 by Global Council for Promotion of International Trade 2020: National Leadership Awards 2020 by Confederation of Indian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (CIMSME) and CEIIE 2019: 1. Felicitated for her contribution in developing ecosystem for entrepreneurs by DIPP, Government of India, in March, 2019 2. winner in the academic category by the Sandvik India Gender Awards (SIGA) and the Embassy of Sweden in August 2019 3. Awarded the Silver Award in the Indian Management Conclave Awards 2019 by Sh. Pranab Mukherjee, ex-President of India in August 2019 2018: ‘NEN Entrepreneurship Educator of the Decade’ award, from the National Entrepreneurship Network, India 2017: the Accenture I&D Award for her work with the underprivileged sections of society. This award was given to only five other people from across the country 2016: the ‘Distinguished Services Award’ from BIMTECH 2015: Entrepreneurship Education Champion’s Award from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), along with NEN, EDII, British Council and Intel 2011: semi-finalist in the GDN Japanese Award for Outstanding Research in Development Work
