Currently working with Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Research & Training Institute (BARTI), Pune, is an autonomous organization of the Govt. of Maharashtra working under the Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance. This Institute is committed to the cause of equality and social justice through scientific research, evaluation of schemes meant for socially disadvantaged sections, policy advocacy, training, skills development etc. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Samata Vichar Peetha was established on 29 December 1978 in Mumbai and later named as Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Institute (BARTI). This institution was shifted from Mumbai to Pune in 1978. On 17 October 2008, the status of an autonomous organization was granted by the Govt. of Maharashtra, various activities are being implemented through the organization, including training of officials, training of public representatives, survey and evaluation of schemes, research, training for various competitive examinations and skill development training, etc. Objective: 1.Empowerment of marginalized & weaker sections of the society 2.Evaluation of various welfare measures and projects implemented by the Govt. for such disadvantaged sections of the society 3.Contribute to the field of Equality and Social Justice through policy recommendations, advice and training programs.
