Our areas of responsibility included the Identity and Access Management (IAM) Service, LDAP, SAML & OpenID Connect integrations, Secrets Management, integration testing and wide-ranging contributions to various other parts of the operating system effort, including the REST API, Mesos, Marathon, CLIs, scalability testing, etc. The team was geographically distributed between San Francisco and Hamburg, which always kept things exciting.
• Also briefly managed the Networking (DNS, Load Balancers, etc.) and Storage teams.

• Also built a Platform-as-a-Service for the rest of the Engineering organization.
• This included software architecture and hardware platform design; operational responsibility for hardware and software including large deployments of Kafka, HDFS, HBase, Spark, Elasticsearch, OpenTSDB, CitusDB (PostgreSQL), Docker/Mesos/Marathon, REST APIs and nginx load balancers in an ever-expanding data center; drawing parts of the owl on various other projects.
