• In my role, I spearheaded the overhaul of our Payments Gateway, including the core payment management system. My contributions included:
• Architectural Design: Partnered closely with the architect to create a robust, event-driven architecture that is highly available, reliable, and fault-tolerant.
• Tech Stack Selection: Led the selection and implementation of a diverse tech stack tailored to our needs, including Kotlin, Kafka, various Datastores (e.g., PostgreSQL for Order Management System, Elasticsearch for search functionality), and GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipelines.
• Engineering Management: Assumed the role of Engineering Manager to align with the product roadmap, plan sprints, detail requirements, and manage story cards and delivery.
• Team Building and Leadership: Joined as the first engineer and successfully built and managed a team of 10. Empowered the team to independently design, develop, and deploy services. Conducted a 6-week asynchronous bootcamp to coach them on best practices in testing and design.

• I led teams to build and maintain high scale systems which included re-designing the architecture, improving uptime and hiring and mentoring engineers.
• Engineer Lead, Ride Hailing Team (1.5 years)
• I led a team of 15 people to manage the customer facing side of the Gojek Ride hailing business. These systems processed millions of transactions each day amounting to revenue of USD 1M per day.
• One of my key achievements was extracting the payments code to a highly reliable, scalable asynchronous micro-service. We also extracted the ziggurat framework to make it reusable. I co-presented a talk on this journey at the ClojureD '19 conference in Berlin.
• Lead Software Engineer, Matchmaking team (2.5 years)
• I led the MatchMaking team (15 people) which was responsible for building and maintaining a scalable and robust platform to build a cross-product driver allocation platform.
• One of my key achievements was designing a drive allocation monitoring platform to make the allocation of drivers more transparent. This product enabled us to increase uptime, reduce driver complaints, increase developer productivity and also improve the core product through data analytics.
