Gaurav Dixit — Co-Founder
Awarded by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in January 2021, I am an architect turned entrepreneur deeply committed to hemp and sustainable architecture. My journey began in a remote Himalayan village, where I lived in a handcrafted hemp house—an experience that rooted my passion for green building, regenerative design, travel, and human connection. With a strong foundation in sustainable construction, I played a pioneering role in designing and building India’s first eco-friendly hemp homestay nestled in the Himalayas. This project exemplifies my dedication to creating architectural spaces that exist in harmony with nature and local communities. I currently teach Building with Hemp at the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, guiding the next generation of architects and builders in using regenerative and low-carbon materials like hemp. My work has been recognized nationally and internationally. I was part of the winning team at the Global Housing Technology Challenge 2021 and at the Asian Hemp Summit 2020 in Kathmandu. I have represented India on several global platforms, including the International Hemp Building Symposium 2022 in France, official startup delegations to Finland and Bangladesh, and most recently, as an invited delegate to Expand North Star 2024 in Dubai. I also had the honor of representing India at the European Industrial Hemp Association (EIHA) event in Berlin. In 2022, I was named a Birac BIG grantee and a finalist at the National Startup Awards. Beyond professional achievements, I lead treks, play guitar, and enjoy sketching. My time spent at the Himalayan Hemp Eco Stay with my family continues to be a wellspring of inspiration and peace. A graduate of the Landmark Forum, I have completed its Advanced Course, Communication Curriculum, and am currently enrolled in its year-long Team, Management, and Leadership Program. Rooted in purpose and driven by innovation, I remain committed to transforming India's construction landscape with sustainable solutions—and to collaborating with individuals and institutions who share the vision of building a greener future.
