May 2017Apr 2018 · 11 mos · Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

  • Tasked with transforming the organisation from being technology enabled to being technology driven. Successfully launched the warehousing, KYC, risk, and the automated payment products. Worked with 10 engineers across 6 products.
  • Spearheaded the design and development of a scalable warehousing/asset management system with a team of 4 engineers. Seamlessly launched across 5 cities and 9 warehouses. This allowed for 100% asset tracking, and realtime accurate stock (as opposed to daily/bi-weekly counts). The back-end was Spring Boot + PostgreSQL + Redis + RabbitMQ, and the front-end was React + hapi.js. It is deployed on EBS, within Docker containers. Designed and developed the front-end single handedly (hapijs + React + Blueprint).
  • Co-designed and developed the auto-debit payments system. The system supports direct debits on credit cards, debit cards, and bank accounts, with plans to extend integrations further. Nodejs was the language of choice.
  • Spiked and ran multiple experiments, and set up a Kubernetes cluster on AWS (via kops) for all upcoming microservices. Planned out and started executing a plan to move off Heroku and onto k8s, and in the process break up some of our monolithic applications.
  • Developed (solo) a lead tracking, nurturing, and attribution system. The app is comprised of multiple smaller services and tracks leads across all supported online and offline channels. The tech stack is Ruby on Rails (ref. The Majestic Monolith - DHH), and React. The product is comprised of 4 different services (not counting cache/persistence).

  • Consolidated, and standardised the technology platform. Built, worked with, and was responsible for 3 engineering teams. Deprecated all legacy ERP systems, and Google Sheets/Excel. Hired across all engineering levels, and QA.
  • Led the design and development of the billing and invoicing product (Java - Spring, Hibernate, PostgreSQL, Quartz, RabbitMQ), with a team size of 3.
  • Hired for, and led the design and development of an order management system, written in Ruby on Rails. The system took into account large order sizes, repeated last minute scheduling changes, and multiple partial shipments/cancellations due to unpredictable stocks.
  • Re-wrote the payments application in node.js and switched to using a payment orchestrator, significantly slimming it down. Added functionality to detect and recover dropped payments, and increased visibility into the real time health and business metrics of the product - done via setting up and integrating with a self-hosted ELK stack.

  • Created the payments product (in Spring + Hibernate) and enabled pluggable payment gateways
  • Automated the process of triggering & sending monthly invoicing, sending payment reminders, collecting payments, the required reporting.
