  • The project considered the setup where different companies can anonymously share information about devices as marketing touchpoints for identifying organic users. The problem statement was to investigate how to devise a mechanism to quantify contributions to the co-operative setting in a way that could be independently verified while preserving the secrecy of data. A solution for the problem was designed involving two interdependent parts. The first part was to build an axiomatic framework to quantify the contributions from participating companies. The second step was to design a secrecy preserving verification mechanism using blockchain and zk-SNARK technologies.

  • Worked under professor James Larus to automate debugging in datacenters. Bugs are difficult to find until they surface and post-mortem debugging of large projects is difficult. One approach to this problem is dynamic program slicing wherein we follow data dependency links and control dependency links to generate the possible error locations. Since an exhaustive calculation is not feasible, approximations need to be developed. I wrote tools and designed tests for the same. Modified the "giri" framework to suit our purpose. We tested by reproducing reported bugs in open source software and checking if our tool successfully detected it.
