Apps Team - Product Solutions

Jan 2018Jul 2024 · 6 yrs 6 mos · On-site

  • Involved in building the app support team from scratch.
  • As part of my role, I was fortunate to be a part of some highly scalable and technically challenging systems such as Chimera (Config Engine), Jarvis (Smart link, CTAs and Scripting Engine), Bazooka )App Release Management) and troubleshooting issues for PhonePe Payments App, Pincode, Indus App Bazaar and Share Market.
  • My primary responsibilities included understanding the systems and their capabilities in depth and leveraging them for business and product needs. I worked closely with ops teams to help them configure offers, set up campaigns and workflows, and extract business reports.
  • I also interacted with the developers in the team to understand the system further, escalate critical customer issues to them after having done the first level analysis myself, and partner with them to develop new constructs and platform requirements.
  • As the role requires stakeholder management, effective communication and organizing skills were a must. To excel in this role, I honed my technical skill sets to include basic scripting, database fundamentals, PS DS, event-based messaging services, data structures, and problem-solving.
  • Overall, the experience was challenging yet rewarding, and I developed a deeper understanding of the tech landscape, stakeholder management, and effective communication skills while working with Chimera, Jarvis, Bazooka and troubleshooting for PhonePe along with its sister apps like Pincode, Share Market, Indus AppBazaar and PhonePe Business app.

Apps Team - Android Dev

Jan 2016Dec 2017 · 1 yr 11 mos · On-site

  • Android App Development - Joined PhonePe as the first apps developer. I was involved in core android app development for the first two years
  • During my time at PhonePe developer, I was involved in the development of the PhonePe Android app - a Unified Payment Interface (UPI) app, with a user base of more than 600 million and a rating of 4.5. I started by building a sample PhonePe MVP app with P2P, split, and recharge mocks, which only took two weeks to develop. For the main PhonePe Android app, we divided it into three modules using the model-view-presenter pattern - PhonePe Core, Network Client, and the PhonePe app. I leveraged Dagger-2 for injection and butterKnife. As a result of my work on all of these modules, I was able to develop quite a few essential features utilised in the PhonePe app.
  • Some of the functionalities and features I worked on during my time at PhonePe include Recharge and Data-card implementation, User-Profile Page design, Saved Cards Management, Contacts Management, Invite Friends, Split-a-bill Feature, Missed Payment Feature, Remind Functionality, Recent Contacts and Recent Plans, Call-me-back Functionality, Scan QR Code - Import from Gallery feature, Back-Press Handling - State machine, Helpshift Integration, Tune and Facebook SDK Events Integration, and Foxtrot Events Integration. Notably, I was able to develop and add end-to-end features for mobile recharge and data-card, including detection of operator and circle of a particular number from the TRAI database. I also worked on the management of user data, which included UPI IDs and address of the user, created a screen that showed saved cards and allowed delete operation, developed a page that had stored VPAs and bank accounts added while sending money, and added an 'Invite' button that opened an intent to send invites to contacts via WhatsApp, Messenger, SMS, and more.

Pecfly internet private limited

Co-Founder

Jan 2015Jan 2016 · 1 yr · Bengaluru Area, India

  • As a Co-Founder of Pecfly Internet Private Limited, my vision was to create a platform that provides a simple and hassle-free experience for trading second-hand goods. Our goal at Pecfly is to offer an interactive and enjoyable way for users to sell their used items.
  • To achieve this, my team and I developed an Android app called Pecfly. The app has been a great success with over 10K+ downloads on the Google Play Store. In addition to the primary product, I learned how to analyze user behavior which allowed us to provide effective fulfilment services to keep both buyers and sellers satisfied.
  • I also led in the development of the Pecfly Android app, incorporating various features such as a location manager, user-chat, swipe gestures, and integrating it with third-party tools like Crashanlytics, Mixpanel, and Appengage to enhance the user experience and improve functionality.
  • Moreover, we experimented with a virtual currency model, enabling users to sell unwanted items and receive coins that they could use to purchase items listed by other users, which has received an overwhelmingly positive response.
