• I provided leadership for the delivery of Certification and Inter-Operability Engineering Services in Red Hat’s Customer Experience and Engagement Organization. Certification Engineering covers the complete range of products on the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Platform and amplifies the value of Red Hat's subscription model. Adopting agile software development principles allow us to deliver quick iterations of high quality software models across the range of products which are aligned with partner technologies. This allows us to bring new technology services to the end-customer at a very quick pace.
• In my role I participated in initiatives for new partner ecosystem discovery, product development and scaling of internal process/business efficiency improvement. I have been heavily involved with Technical Partner Engineering Engagements for new product streams like Red Hat OpenStack Cloud Infrastructure and Red Hat Container Certification Program.

• Fedora Ambassadors are experienced contributors to the Fedora Project who are responsible for representing, promoting, and expanding the Fedora Project and its ideals to the larger F/LOSS community and the public at large.
• As a Fedora Ambassador in India I have contributed towards firming up the Ambassador recruitment process, suggesting and influencing changes in the on-boarding process of Ambassadors. I have been fortunate to have interacted with the Fedora Board, the Fedora Ambassadors Steering Committee (FAmSCo) and, the Fedora Project Leader in order to bring about meaningful changes. To be able to devise operational means to ensure that we have the best representation of Fedora to the external world has been the highlight of the period I worked as a Fedora Ambassador.

• As a member of GNOME Foundation's Memberships and Elections Committee I have coordinated the processes for setting up and administration of the elections, announcing the results and, providing feedback on areas of improvement. Specific areas I have participated include documentation of the process, creation of the response and query templates, re-working the questions for the candidates of elections etc. The role also required me to respond to the Membership renewal request system (via the RT) and, seek out statements of support in order to facilitate the new member participation or, renewal of existing members.

• I was drawn to the GNOME desktop environment because I started to contribute to translation/localization and, testing of the localized desktop UI. In due course I was involved in awareness and marketing communication activities specific to localization and, in general about the Linux desktop. I have also been part of the GNOME Day at foss.in 2007

• Ankur.org.in is a group of volunteers who collaborate to promote localization and internationalization with the specific aim of improving usage of Bengali in Free and Open Source Software projects. The group is involved in internationalization and localization especially translations, content development, development of tools, utilities, widgets and APIs that help facilitate a wider community of like minded collaborators to participate in a community building process.
• I coordinate the developer outreach program through participation in programs like the Google Summer of Code. We try and operate on a bootstrapping model - projects selected and delivered in the previous years are often considered in the current cycle for further improvements. Our current interests lie in the fields of OCR, IVR, Information Retrieval from digitized documents.

• I have been an Evangelist-at-large for the OpenOffice.org project. Functioning primarily as a Marketing Contact or, MarCon, I contributed in raising awareness about the product and, the project. Additionally, I have participated in discussions and policy formulation around the usage of Open Document formats at a broader level. The main focus has been help new contributors find interesting places to contribute to and, help sustain contributions. I contributed a series of articles in LinuxForU aimed at helping new users migrate to OpenOffice.org from other office suites.
