• Designed and developed OLX classifieds’ monetization platform from scratch with highly configurable package catalog, package purchase, and consumption with revenue accounting. This system was the primary revenue source for OLX classifieds (50 million USD annual revenue).
• Led the search & personalization team. My responsibilities included ensuring reliability, performance, and observability of our high scale search platform (>4M rpm on Solr cluster), improving search by designing and developing features like query understanding, autosuggestions, and recommendations. I built the search team by mentoring engineers from within the organization as well as hiring from outside.
• Led the large-scale architecture of OLX Autos 2.0 platform which included architecture unification of classifieds and Autos platforms and complex integrations of multiple internal subsystems with external systems like Salesforce (for CRM) and SAP (for financial consolidation and accounting).
• Worked with the Platform Engineering team to build an internal self-service platform to improve engineering efficiency and enable autonomous, high-performing development teams. This platform provided capabilities like creating on-demand test environments on Kubernetes, bootstrap new Java services from golden path templates, service catalog, and dashboards to give engineering teams visibility into their delivery performance, incidents/reliability, infrastructure costs, etc.
• Led the architecture and backend chapter (community of practice within OLX) to drive and help teams adopt best practices for architecture and engineering for meaningful business impact.
• Led multiple technology initiatives over the years like OLX tech radar, developing custom frameworks for integration, load, contract, and resilience testing, API-first development, observability with OpenTelemetry, documentation standardization.
• Mentored engineers in architecture, engineering practices, technical writing, and their overall career growth.
